We decorated cookies at grandmas today and she loved it. She spent a long time decorating before she even tried to eat anything. Eventually there were tiny handfuls of sanding sugar being shoveled into her little mouth. I think she could have covered cookies in sugar all day if I let her.

This girl and I spent the night hanging out by the Christmas tree, eating over priced salami (it’s ridiculously good) and listening to Pandora radio. Occasionally she yanks an ornament off of the tree, or starts reading Muddypaws First Christmas to me. This is the song in my brain today. Some days are harder the others, this one in particular(hello no sleep for the past two days, the beginnings of a cold and another early morning tomorrow) but spending time with this brilliant girl makes it all worth it. She lifts me up in ways nothing else can. The light from the Christmas tree is pretty phenomenal too.

The only time I spent with her today was when she was sleeping. I missed her little face but am glad she slept well. It’s rare that she gets a nap on days I work and the difference at bedtime is immense.

I can no longer make anything involving flour unless I involve her. Which is fine by me, she’s actually a pretty good baker for a 2 year old.
